CDA Trust CLG is a community based project which aims to address the issue of drug and alcohol misuse through the provision of information, support, training and services to individuals, families and the wider community.
CDA Trust CLG began in Bailieborough in 2001 as a community and voluntary response to growing concern over local drug issues. In 2006 We secured funding from the North Eastern Regional Drugs Task Force to recruit permanent staff to work alongside our team of dedicated volunteers. In 2008 CDA opened its second service in Cavan town and in 2010 expanded into Monaghan. Despite a challenging funding environment, CDA Trust CLG developed over subsequent years into one of the main drug and alcohol support services for two counties. In 2014 we commenced a drug rehabilitation community employment scheme (Deis Nua) funded by the Department of Social Protection. CDA Trust CLG's main focus is now providing direct support to individuals and families coping with or recovering from drug and alcohol use. Although our staff team has grown considerably, we still retain our community and voluntary roots as well as a voluntary board of directors.
